The UHI Millennium Institute (formerly the University of the Highlands and Islands Project) operates the UHI Network to provide data network connectivity services to the UHI partnership and other selected Education and Research sector organisations located in the Highlands and Islands of Scotland (see map of coverage area).

Acceptable Use of the UHI Network
The UHI Network is a Regional Partner Academic Network (RPAN) of the Joint Academic Network (JANET).
Use of JANET and the Internet is subject to the JANET Acceptable Use Policy (AUP) as well as the UHI Network Terms and Conditions. |
Internet services accessed through JANET
 JISC has provided a Layman's Guide to Connecting to and Using JANET, which gives a useful background to the JANET services which the UHI Network can offer.
The UHI Network is connected to the global Internet through its JANET link.
